Workshop Series:【Working with Mental Health Problems in the Family Context】

Based on the work of the clinical team at the Asian Academy of Family Therapy, this workshop series will share our initiative in working with mental health problems in the family context. Using videotaped segments for illustration, our Faculty will share a novel approach in addressing mental illness in the family. This 2-day workshop will cover four major themes in working with individuals with mental illness, including how to address individual symptoms in the family context and how to use our specially designed Family Biofeedback Assessment protocol© to depict individual physiological responses in relation to family relationships. The presentation will also cover a range of affective and anxiety disorders as well as psychosomatic disorders. Through this training, we hope to recruit a group of professionals who are interested in adopting this way of working with mental illness.
The purpose of this training is to recruit professionals from multi- disciplinary backgrounds who are interested in becoming affiliated with AAFT to develop a new approach in working with mental illnesses. Participants must enroll in both days in order to receive a Certificate of Attendance and to be invited to join the intermediate and advanced training.
